Was writing your first
love?
It started when I was
around 11 years old. I remember writing fiction stories, and stories to play
with my friends in my backyard.
Where do you like to
write?
I like to write either
in the library or at home in my office.
Is writing everything
you though it would be?
Oh no. The writing is
fun. It’s the editing. SOOOO much.
Who is/was your
favourite character to write about?
The evil pumpkin
thief.
How do you form your
story ideas?
My last few novels
were first written on index cards with ideas, then an outline was made before I
started to write my story. Although, it never seems to follow the way I
originally tried to organize it. My characters always seem to send me off in
different directions.
Do you keep notes
during the day, in case something inspires you or, if you had a lively
conversation and thought Hey that would
be great in a book?
No, I just get
inspired by movies and books I enjoy and then when I get ready to write, I try
and see how I can sin my own version into an existing story I’m writing, or one
I’m looking to do in the near future.
What was the last book
you read, did it live up to your expectations?
My last book was the
Danielle Paige’s Dorothy Must Die series. It was great.
Do you like warm or
cold day?
Cold days. But not
freezing days.
Tea, coffee, or rum? (or preferred drink, I’m a wine person myself but I do love a good latté)
All three.
Halloween is coming
up, do you like scary stories?
I love and write scary
stories, so YES!!!
Finally
Do you write in one
sitting or in bursts?
Bursts sometimes, but
mostly when I sit down to write I try to get at least a few thousand words
down.

His forthcoming publications and projects
in development for 2014 include a comic book series
based on the ADVENTURES OF KYLE McGERRT
trilogy, his first middle grade series, THE
UNDERDWELLERS, and his third YA novel,
IMMORTAL FAMILY.
On the publishing business side of things,
Charles is the owner of Day Media and Publishing in New York, which houses the
successful imprints, Evil Jester Press, Evil Jester Comics, and Hidden Thoughts
Press (mental wellness collections,)
He’s also an artist and illustrator, who is
passionate about creating the many characters he’s brought to life in his
